Atlas: Travel Companion (“Atlas,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we may collect, how we use it, when we may share it, and the choices available to you when you use our app and related services.

If you grant permission, we may collect approximate or precise location information to support travel-related features, such as place suggestions, map functionality, and trip context
You can disable location access at any time in your device settings

If you connect third-party services or use features that rely on outside providers, we may receive information from those services as needed to operate the feature
This may include information from Apple services such as iCloud and CloudKit, mapping and places providers, authentication services, or other services you choose to use with Atlas

Provide, operate, and maintain Atlas
Create and manage your account
Save, sync, and organize your trips, places, and related content
Enable collaboration, trip sharing, and invitations
Personalize and improve the app experience
Power maps, search, place details, recommendations, and travel-related features
Monitor app performance, fix bugs, and improve reliability
Protect the security and integrity of the app
Respond to your questions, requests, and support inquiries
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information in the following circumstances:

With service providers that help us operate, maintain, host, analyze, secure, or improve Atlas
With Apple services or other platform infrastructure when needed for syncing, storage, sharing, authentication, notifications, or similar functionality
With other users when you choose to share a trip, invite collaborators, or otherwise make content available to others
For legal reasons if we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request
To protect rights and safety if needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of Atlas, our users, or others
In connection with a business transfer such as a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets

4. Data Storage and Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Some information may remain in backups, logs, or records for a limited period after deletion. Information stored through Apple services or third-party providers may also be retained according to their systems and policies.

5. Your Choices

Depending on your location and how you use Atlas, you may have choices such as:

Accessing, updating, or deleting certain account or profile information
Deleting trips, places, and other content within the app
Revoking permissions, such as location, photos, contacts, or notifications, through your device settings
Contacting us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, subject to applicable law

6. International Users

Atlas may be made available to users in multiple countries. By using the app, you understand that your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, which may have different data protection laws.

Atlas is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to investigate and, if appropriate, delete the information.

If a higher minimum age applies in your jurisdiction, that higher standard may apply.

8. Third-Party Services

Atlas may rely on third-party services and platform providers to deliver certain features. Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services except as required by applicable law.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information under our control. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the effective date above. Your continued use of Atlas after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means the updated policy will apply to your use of the app.
